Moving the Poetic Body Retreat
Somatic Dance Retreat
13 - 18 May 2025
Somatic Dance Retreat
with Inalu Antoli (ES) & Thomas Kampe (UK/DE)
Son Drago Retreat Centre, Mallorca
13 -18 May 2025
Moving the Poetic Body Retreat is an invitation to be in conversation with life, awaken your senses, and experience the poetic through our creative moving body.
We will move in the wonderful studio of Son Drago Retreat Centre and will be immersed in its beautiful Mediterranean garden where we can rest and restore our wellbeing. We will take time to invite new ways of meeting ourselves and others through the creative practices of The Feldenkrais Method ® , Somatic Yoga & Movement Improvisation.
Feldenkrais and Somatic Yoga allow us to attend to our bodies in mindful ways, to open to our creativity, connecting to the wider landscape of our whole experience. As we expand our awareness more options become available to our dancing, to our ways of relating in the interior and exterior worlds of our life. Through guided improvisations we can welcome what emerges spontaneously, without filters or forms, a simple and open freedom. We can be present to the expression of the body, to the offerings of our imagination and cultivate a state of curiosity, simplicity and joy.
Each day we allow for time to sense, witness and re-enact ourselves as living & moving beings. There will be time to reflect, exchange and to share your experiences with the group. The language of the classes will be English, with some possible translation to Spanish, German or French. This retreat is for anyone interested in movement and embodiment for creative wellbeing.
Son Drago retreat centre is in the charming countryside near the village of Sant Joan, in the heart of Mallorca. Thomas Kampe ( PhD). I have worked as a performer, artist, researcher and somatic educator across the globe for 40 years. Working with people through movement has always been a delight for me, and I am passionate about personal and cultural change through critical and transformative education. I coordinated the dance section in the Performing Arts programme at London Metropolitan University for ten years, and between 2012 and 2022 worked as Professor of Somatic Performance & Education at Bath Spa University (UK). I currently work with Rambert School for Contemporary Dance and Ballet, Trinity Laban & ID, and SOZO Visions in Motion Kassel. I initially trained in visual art & dance, and am a teacher of the Feldenkrais Method ® which forms a rich foundation for my teaching, arts practice and research. https://thomaskampe.wordpress.com/
Inalu Antoli. I am a yoga & somatic movement teacher with a background in yoga therapy, shiatsu and contemporary dance and following Buddhist teachings for the last 20 years.
I am especially interested in dance to be a vehicle of expression of all that we are and can be. I dance and move to find meaning, connection and to invite deep aliveness. At present I resource myself and find enjoyment and presence through Butoh dance, Embodied Meditation, Katsugen & Authentic Movement. These practices inspired my teaching work and keep my offerings alive and meaningful.
